I am a family partner, parent consultant, coach and postpartum doula. I offer the most support and expertise when your child’s needs are at the intersection of the medical, educational, and mental health systems. I help parents navigate multiple systems of care, disparate teams, and structural barriers. I work with women in the perinatal period to help them successfully manage the transition to motherhood, and identify social and systems-level support, as well as developing strategies for managing personal challenges. More importantly, I have been where you are, with lived experience as a single parent of a child with a disability and medical complexity.
The educational, healthcare, and community-based support systems are incredibly complex and overwhelming to navigate. Often, the system is designed to uphold processes that are impersonal, inflexible, and sometimes dehumanizing and traumatizing. Effective communication is essential where power imbalances exist. Loss of trust in systems of care can create long-lasting harm. I help you center your child’s quality of life and your family’s priorities in the narrative you share with challenging systems.
I trained as a postpartum doula shortly after the birth of my son, now a young adult. Soon after, I began to coach women at all stages of motherhood, especially the postpartum period. Today I see maternal mental health as a fundamental issue for health equity for many families. I provide coaching support to new parents and hold a certification in perinatal mental health.
